ESPN quotes: "Last season, Ichiro batted .442 when he put the first pitch in play, one reason why he won the AL batting title.
He is a classic bad-ball hitter because there isn't a pitch that he has seen, but can't hit.
In Japan, he singled on a pitch that bounced before it got to the plate -- the Japanese actually practice hitting a bouncing ball."
Here in India, that's called cricket & many a struck ball pitchs beyond the boundary for six ;^)
And on "Sports Center" (I can't believe I found it at 1:30 in the afternoon),
a baseball Reliever's five Saves were noted as being "one short of a handful".
(was the announcer genetically altered with six fingers?)

The lady with the gold noseclip in the rickshaw has just been shopping.
She's got so much crap, the driver is pulling the bike rather than pedaling.
The large, blue, plastic vessel with the narrow top is used to bring water from a well.

The 2-leaved emblem by the transfer case between the rear wheels is a political statement.
The "eye" is one of many superstitions, probably to do with "seeing other traffic"...

Here in India, "hotels" are restaurants: all sizes, shapes, veg, non-veg, a/c, or not.
My Western stomach is very acclimated & most Indians still warn me away from places like...

Got 4 1/2 hrs sleep last night & awoke to keep appointment to look at another flat.
My escort/interpeter was 1 1/2 hrs late (he needs to sleep too).
The building was under construction, so it would have been as noisy as the current
when I try to sleep during the morning.
As we left, I snapped a pic of some "heavy equipment"...
