-Happy 15th b-day to Ellen W.
-End of 1st week of a 1 year assignment to Chennai (Madras), India, managing a major PC OEM Call Center/HelpDesk
--Lots of work, sleep, work, etc. Schedule is aligned to USA biz hours
--Last Saturday: toured the city & then coastline about 35km. south. Very crowded with friendly people, fairly polluted, tropical arid (30C=86F). Thankfully guided by Ragu (local co-worker) as we also shopped
--Last Sunday: Keith G's (visiting US boss) 42nd b-day expertly arranged by San-Jin & Hector A. (visiting US co-workers). All brands of local beer were tasted & Kingfisher wins
--Surviving well on native vegetarian food & bottled water
--Hotel (www.RoyalMeridien-Chennai.com) is swank with many services & ANY kind of food. Import liquor tax is about 80% & continues my local beer habit (especially since Becks is unavailable)
